CONNECT WITH US TODAY!Why we chose IGCSE
We focus on how children should learn and create innovative ways of transferring knowledge so that they can enjoy success in one form or the other, making their journey an adventurous one.
IGCSE fits perfectly with this approach. It's an internationally recognised curriculum that we'll deliver in our Indian setting - giving students the best of both worlds.
More importantly, it aligns with our belief in developing students who think critically, ask the right questions and are responsible and mindful of their role in their communities and the world.

What guides everything we do
At B.D. Somani, we aim to nurture and develop the potential of each of our students and to prepare them to become dynamic, caring and productive members of a democratic and interdependent society.
Our vision is to be a beacon of meaningful and authentic learning that empowers students with the skills, attitudes and flexibility necessary to tackle the challenges and opportunities of our ever-changing world.
How do we make this happen?
Ours is a student-centered approach to learning and teaching, in which every child is challenged to explore and excel to their highest ability. B.D. Somani students grow up to be critical thinkers who ask the right questions, responsible and mindful of their role in their communities and the world, and keen to actively contribute to both.

Three values we build in every student
The 3Cs - Curiosity, Collaboration and Courage - foster the development of the values we uphold as a school and as a community. As students progress through each grade, they develop skills that reflect these values. At graduation, they are ready to take their place as global citizens of the 21st century, mindful of their role in their communities and the world and keen to actively contribute to both.
Curious students are creative learners who think outside the box. They value inquiry as a way to explore and make sense of their life and the world around them. They connect local to global communities through their learning and take pride in applying their knowledge to real-world problems.
Collaborative students show adaptability when working with others and facing challenges. They respect each person and the contribution they make to their growth. They communicate their ideas with confidence in different contexts and are open-minded learners who reflect and engage with diverse points of view.
Courageous students take responsibility for their work and understand the consequences of their actions. They express their ideas and celebrate different opinions. They learn from their mistakes and persevere when experiencing difficulties, and take action in their community to strive to make a positive impact.

How learning happens in IGCSE
The essence of the IGCSE programme at B.D. Somani is to develop lifelong learners. The approaches to teaching and learning each subject are aligned to foster a spirit of inquiry among our students.
The syllabus content allows us to design several engaging activities for students that help them develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills. There is a good measure of interdisciplinary connections which students and teachers establish through group activities such as debates, exhibitions and Harkness discussions on different topics.
Students at B.D. Somani International School develop the Cambridge Learner Attributes - they become confident in working with information and ideas (their own and those of others), responsible for themselves, responsive to and respectful of others, reflective and developing their ability to learn, innovative and equipped for new and future challenges, and engaged intellectually and socially, ready to make a difference.
